In February, specialists of the North Kazakhstan AIDS Center and the Youth Resource Center of the city of Petropavlovsk held a number of events with students in grades 6-10 of educational institutions. The purpose of these events is to promote a healthy lifestyle.
AIDS Center specialist Oksana Simuhina told schoolchildren on HIV prevention, including the ways of transmission of the immunodeficiency virus, how to protect yourself from infection, as well as what misconceptions exist about HIV.
Interactive classes use presentations and videos, and it is also proposed to solve situational problems. All this helps teenagers to better understand the material, and participation in quizzes makes it possible to check how the guys learned the information. At the end of the event, they asked their questions to experts.
Specialists jointly visited 18 schools within a month. Over a thousand students were reached at these meetings.
Work on HIV prevention among students of SKO will be continued.
