In Petropavlovsk, in the North Kazakhstan Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS, on February 18, 2021, a working meeting was held with the employees of the Police Department in charge of drug addiction, sex traffiking and human trafficking.

The meeting was attended by Natalya Gordymova, Acting Head of the Epidemiological Department of the OC AIDS, Raushan Yeserkenova, Doctor-epidemiologist of the OC AIDS, Zhanna Baigazina, Officer of the Drug Crime Office of the DP NKO.

Zh.Baygazina, Officer of the Drug Crime Office of the DP NKO, briefly informed on the current situation with regard to drug addiction and persons who provide sex services. The specialists of the Center highlighted the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in North Kazakhstan region in the specified categories. They also discussed the issue of organizing further cooperation on HIV prevention among IDUs and SWs.
