On March 16, 2022, a working meeting was held at the North Kazakhstan Regional Center for the Prevention and Control of AIDS with the participation of employees of the North Kazakhstan Police Department.

The issue “On the epidemiological situation of HIV infection in North Kazakhstan region among injecting drug users and psychoactive drugs, sex workers in 2021 and the organization of joint events on the prevention of HIV infection among PWID and SW in 2022” was considered.Information on this topic was made by the head of the epidemiological department N.N. Gordymova and epidemiologist R.K. Yeserkenov.

In turn, the employees of the Department of Drug Administration of the NKR and UMPS of the DP of the NKR informed about the situation of drug addiction in the region and the people brought for examination at the AIDS Center.

As a result of the meeting, joint decisions were made on the issue of HIV prevention among PWID and SW.
