On January 18, 2023, a joint working meeting of the AIDS Center was held and Mental Health Centers. On the agenda is the issue of increasing the coverage of PWID (injecting drug users) with HIV testing. The meeting participants discussed the current HIV epidemic situation and the drug situation in North Kazakhstan, the problematic issues that arise during the testing of PWID and developed joint ways to solve actual problems.

As a result of the meeting, each organization was given instructions to increase the testing coverage of PWID.

The planned measures should contribute to the achievement of the indicator by one-time testing coverage of PWID in the first quarter 2023 at least 24%, at the end of the year – 95%.
